Mercy and Grace

“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10 NIV

Although Israel have sinned, and have forgotten the Lord in their backsliding, still they were assured of God's mercy and grace in time of need. Although the nations around them were threatening them, and are about to attack them, still the Lord gave them the assurance that He will be with them. Being with them, which means His presence and power will be with them to help them in their time of need, is tantamount to guaranteeing their victory. Again, this is not because of any righteous deeds that they have done. It is because of His grace and mercy. Mercy indeed triumphs over judgment. In your failures and even in your sins, look not unto yourself but unto God who is rich in mercy. Call unto Him in time of need and you will find grace and forgiveness through the name of His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Seek His help, and do not be afraid to call upon Him in sincere prayer. Those who call upon the Lord will never be put to shame. He will always show mercy and grace even in the midst of our failures and sin.
