True Humility results in True Community

“Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” Philippians 2:9-11 NIV1984

The lowest form of humility resulted in the highest form of glorification. This is what happened in the case of our Lord Jesus Christ. He humbled Himself, made Himself nothing (even though He was fully God), and became a servant, even dying on the cross, which was the most shameful form of punishment during that time, in order to save us. Consequently, God exalted Him, which is to His glory, because all of it was in accordance with His purpose, and it revealed His supreme love and mercy for all mankind. What an awesome act to meditate on. And yet, Paul's point here is for us to have the same attitude as that of Christ. True humility is a necessity when it comes to creating a Christian community. Without humility there can be no community. Let us humble ourselves, therefore, toward one another out of reverence for Christ, so that true community may begin to form among us for the glory of God.
