Settle the Issue

““But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say I am?” Simon Peter answered, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”” Matthew 16:15-16 NIV1984

Christianity is not a second hand faith. You cannot be a Christian by proxy. You cannot let others believe for you. You must settle it in your own heart and decide whether you will believe and follow Jesus or not. Simply attending church is not enough. Simply enjoying the fellowship of believers is not enough. Even calling yourself a Christian, and doing Christian things, is not enough. You need to settle the question once and for all, just like Peter did, "What about you? Who do you say I am?" This question will make all the difference in your life. Your answer will determine whether you are or will be a Christ follower or not. A person is only a Christian because of his or her belief in Jesus, and whether or not that belief actually translates into actual life. That belief, of course, cannot be just any other belief. It must be consistent with the truth, especially with regard to Jesus. He is the Son of God, the Messiah, the Savior sent by God to save you from all of your sins, and to bring you into His kingdom. He is fully man but fully God. If you believe otherwise, you cannot be saved. Settle this issue in accordance with the truth that is in God's word and you will be saved.
