25 Seven days passed after the Lord struck the Nile. (Exodus 7:25)
It's interesting how the Lord gives us time to think things through and to respond to Him appropriately, even though we may be stubborn at first. He knows that we may need time to reconsider things. Perhaps a week or so of quietness might allow us to revisit our situation and look at it from a different perspective. Maybe by doing so we would see the wisdom of what God is saying. Repentance is a gift. We cannot take it for granted. So if God is giving you more time to think about something before going ahead in a different direction from His will, then maybe we should pause and reconsider. He is being gracious to you, allowing you to repent or mend your ways before it's too late. Stop your busyness and pause for a while. Think about your decisions. Don't get distracted. Let the voice of the Holy Spirit speak to your soul. Perhaps, as you reconsider and recalculate, you would realize that God's will is good, pleasing and perfect for you after all. There is time.
